Dr. Tin Htoo Naing is an International Research Associate at the Asia-Europe Institute and an Economic Consultant for international and local institutions. He earned his Bachelor and Master degree in Economics from Yangon Institute of Economics, Myanmar and Ph.D from University of Malaya, Malaysia. He worked as a research associate at Asia-Europe Institute, Malaysia from 2001 to 2010, a research fellow at the University of Turin, Italy in 2008 and a project consultant for Asian Development Bank Institute, Japan in 2011. He has deeply involved in many research areas related to macroeconomic management, economic integration, regional connectivity, natural resources and environment, poverty and inequality, agricultural and industrial development and published papers in journals, project reports and conference papers. He has made many presentation to address key issues on Myanmar political and economic reforms at the Manipur University (India), University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong), Chinese University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong), Chulalongkorn University (Thailand), Global India Foundation (India), Asian Development Bank (Philippines), Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (Indonesia), Greater Mekong Sub-region GMS-ADB (Thailand) and Yangon Institute of Economics (Myanmar) in 2011-2012. He has served as a consultant for international and local cooperate community in the areas of Foreign Direct Investment and Special Economic Zone Laws, institutional capacity building, Investment opportunities and challenges, SME start-up and development, investment climate and business environment assessment and benchmarking, environmental and social impact assessment, investment feasibility studies and market research and development services.
